For more than 100 years, the American Lung Association® of the Mountain Pacific has been improving lung health preventing lung disease. We focus our work in research, advocacy and education:
CURES
As federal funding to combat lung disease decreases, we're establishing a permanent fund to advance lung health research in the Northwest to find the causes and cures for asthma, emphysema, lung cancer and other lung diseases.
CLEAN AIR
We partner with environmental groups, community organizations and businesses to monitor air quality and reduce air pollutants. Thanks in part to our efforts, studies show that the air is cleaner in our communities. In addition, we've led the way in helping create powerful new smokefree workplace laws that have dramatically improved conditions for workers throughout the Northwest.
SMOKEFREE KIDS
The average age kids start to smoke in the U.S. is 12 years old. That's why we created Teens Against Tobacco Use (TATU), a peer prevention program that has seen positive results with fewer kids smoking, and Not-On-Tobacco (N-O-T), a cessation program designed for teenagers who want to quit.
Seventy-five percent of the net proceeds from Clean Air Adventures fund American Lung Association® of the Mountain Pacific programs. Please help us continue to make a difference.
